The course is presented in two blocks, using presentations with voice-over. The two blocks respectively cover:
Block 1:
- What is a growth mindset;
- How important it is in life and career;
- How to develop a growth mindset;
Block 2:
- Understanding our learning styles;
- Turning failures into worthwhile learnings;
- Building self-esteem naturally.
It is brought to you by Dr. Jeff Leinaweaver and Rogier Rijnja. Dr. Leinaweaver is an experienced education and human resource professional. Dr. Jeff has been teaching in West Coast business schools on sustainability and is currently a senior organizational development leader with the University of Washington. With some reference to relevant research, Dr. Jeff offers practical and hands-on advice on how to develop a growth mindset with self or others. He shares the difference between a fixed mindset and a growth mindset to start with. Many if us often don’t even realize we are working with a fixed mindset. Recognizing that you are stuck with a fixed mindset is what it all starts with. Similarly, it’s good to know if you are equipped with a growth mindset right there.
Having a growth mindset is a key differentiator for successful careers and happy lives. It’s similar to the glass being half full versus being half empty, but there’s more to it. Dr. Jeff leads you through your personal discovery and planning.
Rogier Rijnja is an experienced human resources professional. He has worked and lived in the US, UK, France and The Netherlands. His work experience reaches across all continents with leading roles at renowned companies which include Amazon, Apple, Nike, Group Danone, Sara Lee and others. He is currently coaching individuals in leadership roles and advices companies on change, culture and reward.
Rogier will take you through the beauty of setbacks and how pivotal they are in growing your career and growing as an individual. The program will take a look at learning styles, turning failures into learnings that are worthwhile and the importance of self-esteem and how you get a grip on it.
